Sonic Clamp

Ultrasonic flow measurement on the pipe, without touching the line itself. The most accurate consumption sensor in the kit — ideal when you want to see what's actually happening in the installation.

Sonic Clamp

The Sonic Clamp clamps on the outside of the water pipe and measures the flow using ultrasonic transit-time analysis. No pipe cutting, no water shut-off, no plumber — the sensor is mounted in minutes. Works on all common copper and metal pipes of matching diameter.

Consumption metering is the core benefit: you see in detail when and where water is being used. Anomalies like unusual continuous drip, faucets left running, or a burst pipe are picked up in real time as an out-of-range flow rate.

Sonic Clamp or Monitor / Monitor Plus — what's the difference?

Both sensors do different things well. The Sonic Clamp is the consumption metre: precise, no pipe cutting, easy to install. It detects leaks reliably from about 1 l/h. The Monitor / Monitor Plus reaches deeper and also finds microleakages from 100 ml/h, but requires direct water contact. In many installations they complement each other.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Sonic Clamp measure water flow?
Two ultrasonic transducers on opposite sides of the pipe measure how fast pulses travel with and against the flow. Very precise, non-invasive metering — no pipe cutting.
Which pipe materials and diameters does the Sonic Clamp fit?
Metal and plastic pipes with 15-32 mm outer diameter. A gel couplant supplied in the box ensures ultrasonic transmission across the wall material.
Can the Sonic Clamp detect leaks?
It measures flow continuously and flags unusually low or persistent overnight consumption. But it doesn't detect microleakages as small as the Aqua-Scope Monitor (100 ml/h).
Does it require pipe cutting?
No. The Sonic Clamp mounts on the outside of the pipe — no pipe cut, no water shut-off. Installation takes about five minutes.
What's the metering accuracy of the Sonic Clamp?
Better than 2 % of reading in typical household flow ranges — sufficient for utility-billing-grade metering and for detecting anomalies.
